134th Air Refueling Group ANG McGhee-Tyson AP, Knoxville, Tennessee KC-135E 151st Air Refueling Squadron

The 151st ARS is the group's operational unit and has flown the KC-135E since 1982. The squadron was federally recognized in December 1957 as the 151st FIS, and attached to the 134th FIG with F-86Ds and later F-86Ls. The unit converted to the F-104A/B in July 1960 and was activated between November 1961 and August 1962 for deployment to Ramstein AB, Germany. The squadron converted to the F-102A from March 1963 until April 1964, when it was re-equipped with the KC-97G as 151st ARS. Equipment was upgraded to the KC-135A in July 1976.
